Too bad they do not choose San Jose, California. We have an airport and many places to hold conventions. Our hotels are only at 30% capacity and there are lots of good deals advertised. There are good places to eat, interesting places to visit, as well as a "few" high tech companies in the area. Sorry to sound commercial and all that but I know what you mean about Palm Springs.

Have you considered parachuting into Palm Springs while the airplane is on the way into Los Angeles? It could save time getting there but leaving will be the same old problem! :)
