Mark,

I would have to agree that they could pick a MUCH BETTER location than Palm Springs. Even San Diego was nice when it was out there. But now that it is mid year you are right somewhere in the midwest in a cool spot like Denver would be great. However, my wife keeps asking me when it is going to be in Hawaii like Rick and Marcus's conference was that one year. That's where she wants to see the conferences held. <bg>

On a serious note, you are also correct about attendance drops because of location. Also, budget cuts has hampered things even more and I think Advisor would be very wise to rethink this location before it's fully committed. Dumb move if they don't. I remember driving way over the speed limit trying to get to Palm Springs the last time because our luggage made it onto out original flight and went to another airport which we had to pick up on our way because we got bumped while flying on standby. Then, the resort really wasn't in Palm Springs and so we had to find a new hotel as well.

You would see a lot more attendees if the cost of the hotel's weren't so outrageous not too mention the cost of the conference.

Russ Swall who owns Vision Data Solutions put on an excellent conference here in the Midwest in Kansas City area last year and it was great for me for location. I didn't decide to go until the day of registration and I just hopped in my truck and drove across the state. The attendance was really good because it was reasonably priced too. However, they had to move it to a larger location for next year and it is going to cost a little more. I'm planning on making it as long as I can get away. My son turns 3 on April 25th the start date of the conference.
