Hi!
Are you sure you do not experience Grid reconstruction behavior? All works ok for me, until grid is reconstructed in run-time, that causes re-building of all columns and thus losing of all column and column method code, properties, objects etc.
To check if reconstruction takes place, just put check box into the column and see if it is still there in run-time.
