That's true, but I still think that the developers should at least be allowed to put something in there that shows the credits...names of all the people who worked on it.
I've put eeggs in pretty much all the apps I've done the past 15 years, in part so if there is any *questions* about who wrote it later I can show the undocumented eegg that only I, as the developer, would know about.
