I've taken the last couple of day getting into the cursorAdapter and VFP8 beta. I'm happy to report that the cursorAdapter works well with a Postgres backend server. I have test a remote connection using the [ CursorAdaptor DataSourcetype = 'ODBC' ] using both buffering 3 and 5 (e.g. [ BufferModeOverride = 3 ] or [BufferModeOverride = 5 ]. I have only test using a small cursor and performance was very satifactory. When I have some more time, I plan to test in a large cursor scenario to see if performance remain satisfactory.

A native windows version of postgres is forthcoming, perhaps before the end of the year. This open up many exciting possibilities. The cursorAdapter is very easy to use and should make it possible to port many apps currently written as file share to client/server. I'm thinking about creating a SQL 92 compliant client/server version of my app to compliment the file share version I currently have. The cursorAdapter should keep things very interesting on this and other VFP forums.
