VFP 7 is fine (the solutions supplied in this thread work with all versions of VFP).
You can use SMTP as I mentioned or CDOSYS as Claude said. You can also use MAPI. See the excellent class in the UT downloads area, written by Nigel Coates.
It is not clear to me why you find the proposed solutions complicated. IMHO MAPI is even more complicated - if you use the standard way, using ActiveX controls MAPIMessages and MAPISession as the MS samples in VFP show.
how to fit it into my project?Just set classlib or procedure to the proper library than instance the objects (it OOP just like in VFP7), as shown in Claude's or my examples on these threads. Just pick one technology (CDOSYS or SMTP for example). They are equivalent for your stated purposes. Try the sample code and you'll see.
