VSS - and some other products - ties in directly with the VFP project. It bears no relation to the class libraries you use. You just open any class, form, PRG, etc. in the project, and automatically get the option to check out the file. Check-in is done manually (also from the project manager), when you think you are ready.

For up to 2 developers, Perforce is free (www.perforce.com). Requires an NT or Unix server.
