It'd be a matter of using an FTP control that displays a progress bar; without callbacks, it'd be difficult to show progress using a VFP form or control accurately. You could display an animated .GIF or similar display artifact to show that the program was running, but it wouldn't reflect the progress or lack of it that had happened.
