FYI: I've found that checking out a project in VFP with the project manager is really slow if a virus checker is running, and the same project checks out approx. 10 times faster if the virus checker is (temporarily) disabled.

Check which of the three files are set to not-read-only by VSS from inside VFP, and do the same.
