2nd question, after double clicking on the form, the code comes up (I know you know this, I just needed a starting point). There will be two comboboxes above the code. On the left combobox, select base class events. On the right combobox, you now have access to the forms events. You actually want to use the load event, I don't think there is an INIT event for windows forms. Hope this helps.
