Hi Jim,

Please allow me to tag on to your message and show my ignorance. What is a Program Manager for Community? It would be nice to have a brief statement that says, xxx has been appointed to the position of yyy reporting to zzz. (Where xxx and zzz are names of people and yyy a position title). Followed by a statement like " In that position xxx will be responsible for _______"

Just my $.02 US

Ken

>>>Thanks, Michel. Let me make a few corrections though. Ricardo is the Group Program Manager for Community for all of VS. Basically, lots of community features that will be coming into the products, efforts that take place in the company will be headed by Ricardo. He's been doing a lot of it already, and this makes it official.
>>>
>>>The VS Data team that I'm heading is made up of the VDT and VFP groups, as you mentioned. I'm not in charge of SQL Server or XML - I'm in charge of driving tools, languages, and access to data for all the developer tools. IOW, there's a SQL Server group that creates SQL Server, my group handles how best to provide access to it across all developer products.
>>
>>Congrats to both, as Evan said is great news that VFP people take better positions at MS.
>>
>>But I have some questions:
>>
>>1- ¿What is Visual Studio?
>>
>>I know, I know ... but actually Visual Studio is a product? ok? Visual Studio .NET? And VFP is not part from NET. So Ricardo wouldn't be with the community aspect from VFP?
>>
>>2 - What is VTD? What products this includes?
>
>I'm glad someone finally asked this last question. I find it hard to congratulate anyone when I don't understand what I am doing it for.
