Hi Alan:

>I'm not entirely sure what you mean by transferring manually and you want to point to a dialog box and transfer the file to excel.

Meaning that I use the "Get External Data" from within Excel to connect to the Access database, then select a file and save that data in the worksheet.

The only simple way I know is to open Access, open a database, choose a table, and do a 'Save As' to Excel.

I have some trouble here. When I open Access, and then try to open a mdb file, the Convert Database dialog box appears. Clicking OK displays a message "This operation is not supported for Microsoft Access 1.x databases."

And, thank you for that orientation in ADO. It is very much appreciated.
