We tried something similar in the govt but ran into problems with the satellite signals not being reliable and that was the govt! Of course, the govt has some reliable sat systems (military use only), but for non-military use we had to use civilian equipment available from the public (so the provider could compete). Did the company provide any 'happy' customers with similar configurations (and topology) for you to contact before proceeding? If you are serious about this as an option, I would contact a company just starting out in this field and offer to 'beta' for them. We did (after the initial bomb) and it paid off. They work 24/7 to get it reliable and redundant for you in exchange for using your name and you can get cutrate deals. Of course, during the beta phase you have to have your old system running since the new system is not reliable yet.
