The only downside to this approach is if a tag got wiped out and you needed to recreate it. Recreating tags using this approach wouldn't take care of that problem and this is why I think it will be more effective to store the tags names and expressions in a lookup table that is used to recreate the tags. This is the same drawback of using ataginfo command to do the same task.
