Hi Yuri -

The macro _is_ in a global template LC_REPORT, which contains about
7 macros and 1 tool bar with 4 buttons (fwiw).

(There are actually 2 templates involved here. The one that I
base the document on, and the global template LC_REPORT that I
load explicitly.)

I cannot run the macro from VFP, because it is up to the user
to decide when s/he is done typing and ready to return to the
VFP app.

The actual problem is -- that the macro i showed is previous message
copies the document to the clipboard when the document does not
contain Word97 form controls, but when the document does contain
Word97 form controls, the macro will not copy the document to
the clipboard.

The curious thing is -- if, when in Word97, i manually copy the
document ( with ^A ^C ) it does end up on the clipboard and give
me the message "you put a large amount of data on the clipboard...".
BUT using the macro it apparently does not put it on the clipboard,
and does not give me that message. the macro works fine unless
i have Word97 form fields in the document.

I'm not trying to belabor a point, i'm just hoping that if i can
think through this carefully and explain it to someone else,
I might realize that i'm overlooking something simple.

As always, i appreciate the comments and thoughts.
