Now you can FIND text within a Report Preview much like Adobe's PDF Viewer. However, you can MARK ALL items found and they will be highlighted while in the Preview. I was sitting next to Ed Rauh in a session on the last day of Whilfest showing him how quick and easy it was to add new features to my control so we spent about 15 minutes in the session getting it started and then I tweaked it on the way home while Dave Telker drove. Don't worry I don't drive and code, only at stop lights! <bg>
You can also highlight more text just by clicking on the Find button again. To clear all highlighted text hold down the SHIFT and Click on the Find Button. I still have more tweaking to do. Right now it highlights the entire text object not just the letters searched on. That will take a bit more work. To make this work it only took a new property addition to my Report Object and 3 lines of code to check that property while painting the page to make it highlight.
More possibilities are to be able to Print it or Save to PDF with the highlighted results as well. I guess I could even kick out a page showing all of the Text Searched on eventually if desired. Just some more ideas! More ideas are always welcome as well.
