What should I use to add a linefeed to a textfile that will be usuable by Notepad.exe

Example:
strtofile('Line1','myTextFile.txt')
strtofile(chr(10)+chr(13)+'Line2','myTextFile.txt',1)

When I open the file in Notepad, I see 'squares' and the text does not wrap to the next line.
