No, the code is for end-user activation only. I don't know if MS has a cross-reference of vendor and codes but certainly the vendor would not use this code.

>ya I know 2 people can't activeate the same code, but when you get the initial box that all the stuff comes in, doesnt it already have a name & company name associated with the code? Or is that only the case if you get it directly from MS and not a reseller?
>
>>The activation code is for you to use on the MDSN site, and you receive all your media directly from Microsoft. I believe the way it works is that no two people can activate the same code.
>>
>>I think if you buy it from a more established vendor all you get is a box with the activation code and other promotional fliers inside. Maybe some welcome CD's too.
>>
>>>So what does that mean? You don't get any of the DVD's just the activation code so that you have to download everything? I mean geeze on a T3 it'd still take forever to get everything, plus then you'd have to burn it all off to DVD-R's or have a pile of hard drives laying around.
