Hi Alan,

Earlier, the VFP help file and the printed docs pretty much mapped so that it was easy to derive one (printed) from the other (online). This has changed.

The VFP 7 documentation, and to a greater degree the VFP 8 documentation, is optimized for online help. There's really no way a printed manual could be derived from the current help topics. Besides, the links and such in the online help make online help much more useful than printed manuals.

And you may notice that all online help topics give you the ability to print the topic...so you have it in printed form if you want it.

If you really need printed manuals, I would suggest that you visit Whil Hentzen's site at hentzenwerke.com and look at HackFox and his other offerings.

>When I arrived at my current job I found the box for v5 which came with three or four good-sized manuals. My purchase of v7 seems to throw me "online" documentation which is horrible for learning purposes (not to mention a printing nightmare). has anyone received v7 manuals? What do you have to do to get them? This growing prevalence of PDF/online documentation with software in general is driving me nuts! Sort of like buying office furniture these days. It can cost hundreds of dollars yet you're left being the one who has to spend hours putting it together!
