The real question should be is the phone system TAPI compliant. VFP is capable of accessing TAPI via both the Windows API and (preferably) via third-party ActiveX products such as Exceletel, so that a VFP app could interface with TAPI devices via programming. You can store TAPI-supplied data in a VFP table; if the TAPI hardware were to pass the inbound phone #, you could then use that to locate the customer, assuming that they are present in the database associated with that phone #. The phone # association is important; many company PBX systems will select whatever line is free to place an outgoing call, so that a customer may have dozens of possible numbers associated with their business in the case of a moderate-sized customer, and some do not identify themselves, so TAPI won't be able to tell you who placed the call.
