Nope,
>You indicate by setting the datasession of the child form to 1-Default Data Session it would automatically share the DE of the parent. How so? Wouldn't
Its automatic. The Default Data Session setting means, "use whatever data session the object that created is using."
So, if you have a form running, with a private data session. And you Do Form a form with data session set to 'default data session' that form would exist in the same data session as the form with the private data session.
Perhaps Hackers Guide for 7.0 explains it better than I:
Realize that a form's selection of "Default Data Session (1)" for the data session is NOT the same as selecting the Public (number 1) data session. A default data session is the one that was open when the form was called—if you call a form set to the default data session from a form with a private data session, they share that "private" session. So forms can share a private data session—a nice feature when you need a follow-on dialog within your form.
