I may like or hate any smell - depending on its strength, i.e. concentration. Us having three daughters, you may imagine accidents which have suffered with perfumes. We once had to air the rooms for four hours - and it was the perfume I actually liked. OTOH, even the skunk trace may have something nice to it - once it's thinned enough after a week. It's just a matter of measure.
Speaking of which, I have developed a reflex to take a deep breath and walk really fast past the isle with candles in any store. I can't breathe there - and as a smoker I tend to feel less smell.
