Seems OK to me - I took pretty much the same approach back when .NET was in Beta. With hindsight I might have moved the VFP end an extra layer away and delivered the data to .NET as XML over webservices. That opens up the possibility of allowing more sophisticated clients to develop a front end in their own systems. Don't know if that's relevant for you though.
