>Some people have a problem with the UT because you run it as a business. There will be links to appropriate UT content.
That is one of the worst thing I haven't heard. It's nothing personal but this is really not a point. However, you'd just given some valuable information that some people never wanted to go out and say public. We knew it's true but nobody wanted to confirm it. We just can't understand this reaction however. Why user group leaders went to us in the first place, made us work a full two weeks to deliver a pretty good interface, are calling us to get door prizes and turn back against us like that? On the last point, we just delivered several thousands in door prizes equivalent in the last few months and this is what we get?
It constitutes a great advantages to have it running on such a site. First of all, you benefit of the greatest and biggest audience at all for VFP, you benefit of a commercial infrastructure which will constinously invest in maintaining the section and the power to react to adjust rapidly within such an environment. I really don't see why such a site is not well seen now from user groups? After all, UT has contributed to save a few user groups and to start new ones. We've always worked with Microsoft and user groups to facilitate your work, present at meetings and even donated a lot of door prizes even before the special promotion took place in September.
So, if this is the perception of user group leaders to say thanks by stating that they have a problem with UT because it's a business, then, I'm sending this thread in my personal file #13.
