> one central location is better than having things spread out across multiple locations on the web.

Craig;

Although I agree that one central location is best I cannot conceive that this could be approached in a meaningful manner by one entity.

First of all, what is the definition of a “group leader”? Did all group leaders representing all the groups attend the meeting you mentioned and all agreed with your statement? Perhaps a few attended and all of those may or may not have agreed.

With luck you could attempt to create a web site with links to other web sites that have such information. A bit like a switch board if you will. I seriously doubt that all user groups will be represented. Some will drop into the cracks.

What has so often throughout the years been defined as an outstanding user community seems to be unraveling before our eyes. More of the “them and us” mentality?

Some may complain that Michel “runs this as a business”, but that is what it is. It is a business to bring together developers. There is nothing wrong with that. Businesses make decisions and you either agree, attempt to express your differences or disagree.

There is value in the many sources of information related to Visual FoxPro as well as other topics. The UT is not the only source of VFP information. You use the best source to get the job done – just like a developer choosing a development tool.

It seems that you and Michel are aware of something going on concerning the UT that the rest of us are ignorant of. It would be interesting to get this out in the open rather than a “casual remark” about “group leaders” and a “central location”. Your comments can only cause one to wonder what is going on and why you chose to make such a post.
