interesting ... what I know is, that something with the icons has changed internally, since VFP8 now supports icons with more colors and other sizes. But I don't know if that has something to do with your problem. Basically the icon file should contain two icons in different sizes: 16x16 and 32x32. You could also try to add the icon programatically like so: _VFP.ActiveProject.Icon = 'youricon.ico'.

For testing purposes I created a project from scratch, it worked. I also opened a VFP7 project in VFP8 and had no problems.

BTW: Have you already tried to compile to an EXE? Is the icon shown in a desktop shortcut or in the upper left corner of the main window?
