Well, if you meant exactly this, I agree with you - for view/SPT cursor there is no way to make another connection and then update.

That is what is needed to know. Just need more information on WHAT is wrong. Error message is a result, the real REASON of prooblem is deeper. Unfortunately, I or you could not look such deep without source code or good explanations...
