Thank you Elmer, but it indeed delete the old record, carrying forward the item number and the item. I can find no indication of a duplicate record, in fact the Primary key IS incremented by one each time. The really frustrating thing is that I built and ran the same program a year ago - almost to the day on VFP 5 (plus all the service packs etc) and it ran flawlessly with 68 users on the Lan. I WILL solve it some how, but for next year I am going to try my hand with VFP and the web. What did you say? Good luck!
