If this VCX is used in multiple projects, you need to make a copy of the VCX/VCT files FIRST. Copy them under the original name to a backup folder. Then do what Sergey suggested for the first project. Then copy the backup VCX/VCT for the next project. Repeat process until all projects have gone through the renaming and reference changes.
