I've run into another problem. Not all fields may have the area code. So I am checking for length of the values returned. So, if length is less that 10 characters (i.e. 999 999999), then i was trying to use a PadL with zeros, so that I can later parse the area code part and insert that into the area code field.

Problem is that the phone number has been declared as numeric and padL might not work. Any suggestions?
