Ken, thanks 101% for making the beta available for download.

I have a few questions on the OLEDB provider.

I installed the beta, and now I think that the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules\VfpOleDB.msm" overwrote the OLEDB provider that I installed with my production VFP7 install. Is that expected behavior, or was it supposed to install side-by-side?

Is there a documentation location what can be done with the OLEDB provider from ADO.NET? I am investigating converting a VFP MTDLL in COM+ to a C# app (still in COM+) using a VFP DBC with DBC SP's, but I am not sure what to expect from the ADO.NET Command Object when interacting with the new OLEDB driver (I found some hiccups with the VFP7 driver).

Will the driver be distributed seperately, possibly as a discrete download on MSDN or on www.microsoft.com/data? I have successfully used VFP's OLEDB driver in a large system as a middle-tier data cache for SQL Server, and would love to share this kind of stuff with the world; nothing beats VFP when it comes to ISAM, but the hardest part about using it is getting the provider in the hands of the masses.

Thanks.

>The VFP OLEDB provider update beta will be available on or before Monday 11/4. Stay tuned for a posting here and on http://foxcentral.net when it is live online for download.

>In addition, I have some good news for everyone. Based on the demand for the VFP 8.0 beta and also the importance of making the beta available to MSDN Subscription customers well, I was able to have the entire VFP 8.0 beta be made available on the Microsoft MSDN web site as a world wide free public beta for anyone (not just VFP developers) to download and use until we release VFP 8.0 the first quarter of next year.

>The updated VFP OLE DB provider will be slightly updated over the version included in the VFP 8.0 beta, so downloading both will be recommended. The VFP 8.0 beta will be available online early next week for anyone in the world to freely download and use. When it is available live, a news item will be posted at http://foxcentral.net with a link.
