Jim,
You can instance ActiveX help by pressing the F1 key when the control is [visually] on the form and has focus. Sometimes, I have to trick it, and open an instance of VFP help, then focus the control, and press F1 (or select help off the controls 'property' dialog (a right click on the control).

My VFP 7 has pointer issues with ActiveX help, so until I resolve that, I use the VFP 6.

There are articles by Cetin (and another "Driving TreeView with Command Window") that will walk you theough adding nodes. After that, Doug Hening has a great treeview [demo] drag and drop. So do I - just write and I'll send you one.

Windows exlporer is a great exmple of treeview and listview in action!

The great thing about activex is the look and feel they add to our applications. You'll learn about nodes, with ListView, you'll learn about subitemindexed nodes, etc.

Down side is practice. But the advantages are remarkable! I rarely use grids since I discovered ListView's charm. Read Cetin's article and that "Driving" article to get going.

HTH!
