Granted I have never ignored that message and have not gone on with the setup to see what happens. However, this seems to me to be a failure of installing the HTML Help Engine. My assumption was thinking that by checking the HTML Help Engine box, the VFP setup wizard would include the HTML Help files, including foxhhelp.exe and foxhelpps.dll in the CAB file. At least this is what the MS KB article lead me to believe.
Hi Mark,
I went through a setup on a very old machine recently, and I opted to ignore the warning that HH requires IE4 or later. The application seems to work OK (sans Help), although the setup concluded with a message that it failed (which I attribute to the inability to register foxhhelp.exe, etc.).
I'm confused about what you described as a procedure for getting get HTML Help to work in VFP applications on "older computers that do not have IE4 or later". Does this mean that the warning message is wrong, and that you can in fact get it to work without installing IE4+, just by running HHUPD.EXE? That would be pretty interesting, if true.
