I have the same "problem" and I have the following explication for this:

When the visual fox use any container control (forms, custom...) that use another subclassified control he need to load the .vcx file to use the subclassfied control. To increase the performance he keeps the files .vcx open and the controls in memory after the containder is released.

To solve this problem use the CLEAR ALL command.
