Sure it could! It is even possible that any company personnel (Microsoft's or others) that are dedicated by a company to work on "non-profits" tasks become tax deductions for the company! Some call that having your cake and eating it too but others accept it as standard business practise.
My view is that a company providing staffing help to a non-profit that is totally unrelated to its own business is doing a GOOD THING and deserves any credit (including tax breaks) that it can get. Doing the same for a related non-profit should be viewed as immoral and illegal and I question the validity of creating the "non-profit" in the first place.
