So are you going to start a thread to discuss this? Things that have changed SINCE VFP went out of the box include:
1) Creation of the "Evangelism" department at MS.
2) Countless articles discussing the merit/future of .NET.
3) Admission by Mr. Ballmer that small/medium business is MS' biggest customer base.
4) Announcement of .NET versions of several non-MS products.
5) .NET marketing has undergone several false starts or retrenchments.
6) Many have had direct customer feedback vis-a-vis their view of VFP in the context of .NET for the future.
7) MS' impact on long-established communities and the evolution of the .NET community.
I believe that all these things probably have affected the perceptions and opinions of many people.
