Did you install the latest VFP ODBC driver? It should work with VFP5 databases, the update is at http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/downloads/addons/ODBC.asp

UPDATE: Also try installing the latest MDAC patches for W2K (I think MDAC 2.6)
