I encountered this same issue when upgrading to Acrobat 5 also. Apparently, at least as far as I can tell, the post script file extension (ps.pdf) isn't created like it was prior to version 5. The PDF is created directly from the writer. Instead of naming the file with the .ps extension as you currently do, just name it with a .pdf extension and the pdf file is created without the intermediate .ps extension in the filename.
