Rather than remove them from the project, mark them as excluded - they will still be referenced in your code, but will not be included in the .EXE - you'll need to distribute them as distinct files with your app to avoid errors.

If you've included code from the FFC or App Wizard, it's likely that this is where the BMPs were referenced.
