I was able to setup MSDE 7 so that another developer could access it using the enterprise tools or through a VFP connection which was defined with a connection string without needing a "trusted connection".

I have now installed MSDE 2000, and this same method fails. The message is:
Connection failed:
SQLState: '28000'
SQL Server Error: 18452
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'sa'.Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Is it possible to setup security as before (account and password only) or do I always have to setup trusted connections? Is it the same for full SQL Server 2000?

If a trusted connection is required, how do I set it up for developers in other machines?

TIA,

Alex
