I am assuming you are using the Novell Client and not the Microsoft Client for Novell.

I am using Novell Client for Netware 4.83 and have never run into this problem on XP machines. However I do a custom install and install only the client, not the other included programs like desktop manager unles the workstation specifically requires it. I do this because I was having problems with the client add-ons on Windows 2000 boxes. When I elimitated most of the add-ons the problems went away.

What I sugest is to uninstall all add-ons and leaving only the client and see if that solves the problem.
