What's the language you use !

If use Microsoft language, you can use transact_SQL to get the data and expor to XSL

Sample in VFP, after conecting in DB
Select [fields] from [table] where [condition] into cursor [your cursor]
Export to [FileName] TYPE [  MOD | SYLK | WK1 | WKS | WR1 | WRK | XLS | XL5 ].
