Bonnie:

We need to get some of the data out of the SQL database and back into VFP using a method I have never run - so the question was ambig with respect to technical details.

I wanted to find a non-destructive method to export the data - but the export method in SQL has an issue exporting to DBF since some of the table field names repeat the same 10 character prefix and cause it to fail.

I will have to choose Paradox or another format if I am to use the Export feature, since I just found our SQL version and it is 7.0 - the data is 8.0 so that will not be good.
