I found what I was doing wrong. I placed a variable in the picture property of the form thinking that when the variable's contents changed, the picture property's value changed also. This is not so. Example, I had '=gcbackgrndfilename' in picture property. I changed the value of the variable thinking that the background would change. After issuing a 'thisform.picture' = 'xxxxxxxxx.gif' it worked. Thanks again for your help.
