This is not the first computer/laptop we've had this problem with, so I'm sure it's got something to do with WinXP.

My laptop suddenly can not see/access any computers in our workgroup peer-to-peer network. This happened all of a sudden without the installation of any new software or anything. No matter what I try, I keep get a message on the laptop to the effect of

"Workgroup is not accessible. You may not have permission to access this network resource."

I've done all of the following:

Removed all networking components and re-installed.
Changed the name of the computer.
Ran the network setup wizard (ad naseum).
Changed the name of the workgroup.

On my previous laptop, the only way I could fix the problem was to re-install WinXP. YUCK! I don't want to have to do this again... I've got too much stuff installed on this one, but I really need to fix this ASAP.

I checked MS knowledgebase, which basically sucks, and none of the suggestions on there seem helpful or pinpoint anything that has even remotely worked.

What is the solution to keeping this from happening?

Any help GREATLY appreciated!
