A lot, apparently. Operator overloading, multiple inheritance, the ability to raise custom events, pointers. The list goes on. Visual FoxPro is a great language for hacking quick solutions, but for industrial strength applications nothing beats a pure OOP language

Here are some Mid-Range Accounting Software Companys that would disagree.
Product Company Language Database
-------------------- -------- -------- --------
VisionPoint 10 STB Accpac International FoxPro FoxPro
AccountMate 5 AccountMate Software * ? Pervasive SQL
TurningPoint RedWing Software FoxPro FoxPro
(* I think AccountMate is written in VFP, but the article did not say.)
I'm sure there are many other commercially available apps written in Visual FoxPro, but this comes from an article from Accounting Today, "Accounting Technology, and Practical Accountant" 2002 Year. A Mid-Range Accounting Apps bridges the gap between popular low-end apps like QuickBooks and Peachtree, and higher-end systems, such as Best Software's MAS90 and Microsoft/Great Plains' Dynamics.
There are many other Mid-Range Apps that use other languages. For some reason Pervasive SQL database was widely used. Here the breakdown on the other Apps:
Advantage Small Business Eddition by Accpac international - Pervasive SQL
Visual AccountMate 5 by AccountMate Software - Lan version use Pervasive SQL
BusinessWorks Gold V3 by Best Software - Pervasive Sql
Accounting for Windows 6.5 by Cougar Mountain Accounting - Database was not mentioned?
Small Business Manager By Microsoft Business Solutions - uses MSDE which makes it very easy to upgrade to full SQL and Great Plains High End System.
Traverse Desktop by Open Systems - Microsoft's Access 2000
