No all the time zone lines are straight though(well none of them are straight if you think in 3D). Some time zone lines have irregularities so the time zone will be the same for the whole country.

I don't think there is a difference between night and day on the poles but they do have seasons beacause of the difference in distance to the sun.

Time zones are just a big hassle if you ask me.
