In a grid I have column bound to ID. In valid method I do some validation based on entered ID. Can I click mouse outside a grid (or in some other column of a grid) without triggering valid method of column. This is important because I want to initiate some action with push button with mouse not with ctrl+tab.

In last column of a grid I do some validation too (usually CALC SUM(x*y) TO aa and then display value of aa in field outside a grid). Is there a easy (and nice) way to do validation, append blank, go to last record in grid, place user in first column and all that without trigger valid method of a column1 in grid. I solved problem but don't like it. Smooth ways after appending record doesn't place user on it but stay on same record.
