Well after I switched to the txtQuickFill I was able to get rid of the second use of the table. The txtQuickFill works fantastically.

The native combobox has some serious issues when it comes to working with fields. When I dropped down the combo and highlighted something in the drop down list and then clicked on the form without actually selecting anything in the combo. While the combobox value did not change, the record in the table was actually moved. I found this behavior extremely odd.

Thanks once again for pointing me in the right direction.
