If a ".Net product" was a product that precompile until use CRL, I think the same as you. But, Microsoft, creator and owner this thing called ".NET", use .NET for his Server, as Windows .NET Server (near 4/2003), and I think it could be more or less coupled with .NET Framework, but I don´t know if it is compiled until use CRL.
In other message I read It coul be necessary what is .NET and what is .NOT ;-D
I think .NET is marketing, not only some tools and some technology.
